CHILD PROTECTION AND SAFEGUARDING
Every Child Has the Right to Feel Safe
The safety and wellbeing of every child is BC Academy’s highest priority. We are committed to providing a secure, caring environment where children are protected, listened to and confident about asking for help.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All staff, contractors and volunteers are expected to recognise concerns and report them immediately.
How We Keep Children Safe
BC Academy:
Appoints a trained Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Safeguarding Leads.
Completes appropriate checks before adults are permitted to work with children.
Provides regular safeguarding training for staff.
Teaches students about personal safety, healthy relationships, consent and online safety.
Maintains clear professional boundaries between adults and students.
Works with parents and relevant child protection agencies when necessary.
Reporting a Concern
If you are worried about a child’s safety or wellbeing, contact the Designated Safeguarding Lead or Reception immediately.
Please share what you have seen, heard or been told. Do not investigate the concern yourself or promise to keep it secret. Every genuine concern will be taken seriously, even if it is later found to be unsubstantiated.
What Happens Next?
The safeguarding team will listen, record the concern and decide what action is needed. Information is handled sensitively and shared only with people who need it to protect the child.
Where a child may be at immediate risk, the school may contact the appropriate authorities without first seeking parental consent.

We work closely with families, staff and external professionals to create a vigilant safeguarding culture. Our policy and procedures are regularly reviewed to ensure they remain effective and aligned with KHDA requirements and UAE child protection law.
